Den Ausgangspunkt für die Serie Tourist bilden flüchtige Skizzen, die als Entwürfe für potenzielle Malereien dienen. Die eingescannten, digitalen Versionen dieser Entwürfe werden an verschiedene Online-Fotodruck-Anbieter geschickt und den algorithmischen Launen ihrer jeweiligen Software überlassen. Dabei entscheiden die Eingabemasken der jeweiligen Programme über Format, Beschnitt und Qualität des Drucks. Anschließend werden die Handzeichnungen vernichtet und die entstandenen Leinwände seitens der Online-Händler per Paketdienst direkt in den Ausstellungsraum geschickt.

The starting point for the Tourist series are cursory sketches that serve as drafts for potential paintings. The scanned, digital versions of these sketches are sent to various online photo print providers and left to the algorithmic whims of their software. Here, the input screens of the respective programs decide on the format, trim and quality of the print. The hand drawings are then destroyed and the resulting canvases are sent directly to the exhibition space by the online retailers via parcel service.
